Self-esteem
is the feeling that we have about ourselves. Our self-esteem affects how we think, how we feel, and what actions we take. How we feel about ourselves comes from two main
sources: internal (our own perception of ourselves) and external (reactions and comments from others). A shaky self-esteem is when we focus
too much on external sources to serve as an indicator of how we feel about ourselves and as a basis of self-worth. Studies have shown that low self-esteem is the
root of many personal problems. How we judge ourselves affects how we get along with others, what kinds of friends we choose,
who we marry, our success at work, even the types of parents that we are.
Building self-esteem allows you to take your life to the next level. When
you believe in yourself and treat yourself in a kind and loving manner, you will experience happiness and success.
